Discuss your Nuzlocke runs here! "WHAT'S A NUZLOCKE?", you ask? Basically, a Nuzlocke is a set of rules intended to create a higher level of difficulty while playing a Pokemon game, also encouraging challengers to use Pokemon they wouldn't normally choose. The rules are not part of the game, but are more of a "Self-Imposed Challenge" type thing. The basic rules are as follows - Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead, and must be either released or boxed permanantly.
- The player may only catch the first Pokemon encountered in each area, and nothing else. If the first Pokemon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.
- All captured Pokemon must be nicknamed.
- A black out/white out is a game over, even if there are Pokemon left in the PC.
Many optional variations and amendments to the rules also exist, some of which can be found HERE, though to be considered a true Nuzlocke, the base three rules listed above MUST be present.
LET THE DISCUSSION BEGIN!
EDITED THIS POST SO PEOPLE DON'T GET CONFUSED THAT THE OPTIONAL RULES I LISTED ARE NEEDED BECAUSE THAT IS A POSSIBILITY

I play the nuzlock challenge on every new pokemon game I get. And when I beat it, I start my permanent new game. I am creating my own pokemon game challenges. I have a few challenges I am trying to perfect. And then, the world will know of them.

At the moment I'm doing a SoulSilver Nuzlocke.
My team as of this post are (nickname/species - level) Croquette/Crobat - 37 Tamarind/Ampharos - 37 Tobasco/Typhlosion - 37 Pirozhki/Nidoking - 32 Sashimi/Gyarados - 37 Uni/Krabby - 20 (Field Move slave)
And the Pokemon that have unfortunately passed are Muscle/Machop - 24 Lebkuchen/Graveler - 30
At this point I'm in Ecruteak City, about to battle the Kimono Girls. I may run off and level grind, though.
Also I've nicknamed all my Pokemon after food. because why not?

I'm currently level-grinding Acerola the Abra/Kadabra and Pirozhki the Nidoking to about equal levels with everyone else on my team.
I also plan on somehow evolving Acerola into an Alakazam to teach him Focus Blast via TM, but probably not until he's at least lvl40 and learns Psychic. But then again Alakazam also learns Psychic at lvl40 so I might evolve him earlier than that.
i may or may not also teach him calm mind but idk

No, you just have to trade him. :/
I will give him a TwistedSpoon when/if I get one, though.
The 'somehow' was finding someone to trade with, because trading on the GTS is a recipe for not getting your Kadabra back ever. And that's NO GOOD.

I'm not sure GTSNegotiations existed in Gen4.
Like I said, I'm doing a Nuzlocke of SoulSilver.

And I totally forgot that I have more than one DS and Gen4 Pokemon game and can therefore trade with myself.
HUZZAH, I now have an Alakazam!

And, after the horrible massacre at the Johto Elite 4/Champion, I have given up on the SoulSilver Nuzlocke.
R.I.P Croquette/Crobat Tamarind/Ampharos Pirozhki/Nidoking Acerola/Alakazam
I don't think I can continue with the entire Kanto part of the game with only a Gyarados and Typhlosion, and level grinding any of the other Pokemon that I have in the PC would take (metaphorically) forever.
SO I STARTED A WHITE2 NUZLOCKE INSTEAD
Clement/Oshawott - 5 Strawberry/Patrat - 3
Edit; WELL, Strawberry didn't last long.
RIP Strawberry level 3 - level 4
i hate wild patrats so much rrrgh

Never raise a Patrat. Patrat and Watchog suck. I recommend..... Beginner, Lucario, Zoroark, Haxorus, Unfesant, and a fire type to cover your Oshawott. This is not my party. If you knew what my party I had you would crap your pants.

Started a Diamond nuzlocke run. So far I have chosen to be a girl named Poke and named my rival Bean. First person to get the reference without googling it gets serious props.

Ok, so you stuck to 2 of my suggestions. A fire type and a lucario. You REALLY need to grind, Elesa has better tricks up her sleeve than the first game. Keep in mind, none of your pokemon are well suited for battle against her. Leavanny is a grass type, and electric type moves are not very effective. But, Elesa has an Emolga. And flying type moves are super effective on both grass and bug, so that Emolga with do quadruple damage to leavanny with acrobatics. Thats a power level of 480! That is if Emolga is not holding any items. If It is, the the power level would be 240.

Another 'happened way before this post' update, sorry.
I decided to go to Desert Resort and catch a Ground type of some sort. Ended up catching Durian the Sandshrew, which soon evolved into Sandslash (I replaced Kerchak for him) and he pretty much swept Elesa's team. Miller did a pretty good job of taking care of the random Trainers.
Clement the Dewott did a pretty good job of taking care of Clay's gym by himself, though Kohlrabi took out his Krokorok (or whatever Sandile's first evolution is). I also caught the Volcarona in Relic Castle before taking part in the PWT.
Made it through Chargestone Cave, Stephen evolved into a Magnezone, now level Grinding for Skyla's gym.
The Team Durian/Sandslash - 35 Kohlrabi/Lucario - 30 Miller/Leavanny - 31 Iblis/Volcarona - 35 Stephen/Magnezone - 34 New Catch/Addition; Tandoori/Tranquill - 32
Bodycount - 3 Strawberry/Patrat lvl 3 - lvl 4 (Wild Patrat, Route 19) Kracie/Raticate lvl 15(or so) - lvl 25 (Trainer Battle, Relic Passageway - Swoobat) Clement/Dewott lvl 5 - lvl 33 (Trainer Battle, Route 7 - Unfezant)
