There needs to be an action option. Y'know like stick fights for example.

I'm trying to figure out why there's a Pikachu Super Sonic picture in the OP... Welcome to the forum, Romanlegend.

When you think about the only real way to get famous on Hatena (Besides Reused recolored flipnotes) was to just copy audio from already popular videos on youtube. So there wasn't really any real original content. Not even stick fights considering they all end the same. And don't say that people voicing characters is original either. IT was basically a bunch of fanfictions.
Hatena in the end was just a place were people stroked theirs and other peoples ego.

Well... I can see a lot of logic there. ...sorry You know, I think there was a lot of good stuff on Hatena, but as you said, YouTube audio was waay overused. If I wanted to watch asdfmovie, I would watch asdfmovie, not asdfmovie with poorly animated Pokemon OCs. And so on with NigaHiga, Pewdiepie (though I'd never watch him anyway), etc. etc. etc. Nonetheless, there was a lot of good stuff on Hatena. Anthony's SMB was pretty good. GADGET was very impressive and entertaining. I liked Bugzy's flipnotes, they were well-animated and funny. Civil's comedy series Brock & Clyde was good stupid fun. I still watch those from time to time on my DS. BosS's Untitled Story trailer was extremely promising, and it's a shame Hatena ended before he could make more than one part to it. Weekly Topics were the highlight of my life on Hatena. People who entered them were rarely popular (SpriteBoy as a possible exception...) but they had to be original to be considered. They were always cute, well-intentioned, fun animations. Nothing expert, but that was distilled Flipnote at its finest, what it was really about. And then there was the Most Popular page... But Hatena was such a mixture of different people and ideas, you really can't generalize it like that.

I liked the flipnotes were people actually put some effort into animating them. Epic's flipnotes were well animated and I thought they were cool remakes of the audio he was using. I did the same thing a lot, but I mostly made stick fights. However, I was never too fond of the most popular. All I saw on there were music videos of pop songs I've never heard of, star beggars, spin-offs of the same flipnote, and only pointless things. But once in a while, you see a really well made flipnote on there.
I was very disappointed that only my slenderman flipnote got popular, but none of my stick fights appeared in that section. Maybe I should smack an overused meme on top of it and see if people will like that. At some point, I did get a bunch of fans, but none of them watched my videos. They only liked my slenderman video, but they just completely ignored me after that.
The point I'm trying to make is that I was trying to make it big, and I had the potential, but nobody cared because of the blinding sights of BosS, Gizmo, Epic, Squirt and his squirtlings, and all the other popular guys.

That's partly why I made this forum--for people to make friends and fans and connections. I think we can all agree that the "Most Popular" weren't always the best, only those with the widest appeal. Which unfortunately also means the lowest common denominator...

Which unfortunately also means the lowest common denominator... Plus a large amount of the users in Flipnote Hatena were little kids, which many other creators did not understand. A lot of them were from Deviantart as well, probably 11 to 16 years old.

They were always cute, well-intentioned, fun animations. Nothing expert, but that was distilled Flipnote at its finest, what it was really about. I actually made one flipnote for an October Halloween topic, and it got included in the article. As you said, the people who did them were rarely popular; in fact, as I looked through the entered flips, the majority of them were spam, spin offs, or sloppily animated flips. I only made one just to see how easy--or hard--it would be to get mentioned. It was very simple to say the least.

A lot of my entries were given green stars by Aaron, but I only was mentioned in the Weekly News once, for a song about snow cones. I think the weekly topic was "frozen." Also Liss, I just noticed your personal text status. I should have always known it was the fire nation!
