Flipnote Forum Rules
I really hope this forum can be a great place for everyone to enjoy, but in order for this to happen, we have to follow some basic rules. The first thing you need to know is this: please, use common sense. Respect others. The internet is anonymous, but this doesn't mean you have to be a tool. And you will be banned if you attack others. Don't be annoying or inflammatory. If somebody is giving you issues, feel free to report them, and we'll deal with the offender as we see fit.
There is also a code of forum etiquette that must be followed to make this site as enjoyable as possible.
-Don't double post. Or triple post. (This refers to multiple posts in a row by the same member) It is okay if it's been a day or two and nobody has replied, and your new post has nothing to do with the previous one.
-A word about your post count: don't obsess over it!
-Introduce Yourself topics are okay, if they are in the correct board. Also, from here on out, post counts are disabled in that board, so don't think you can increase your count by replying to every single Introduce Yourself topic. Also, see the previous bullet.
-Do not create a thread based around yourself. (This rule excludes Self-Promotion threads.) This includes advertising, etc. Don't create a thread for your YouTube channel, your DeviantArt, or your plushie making skill. (That would go in the art thread.) You can advertise or whatever in your signature.
-If you create a thread, first ask yourself a few questions. Is this going to spawn a decent discussion, or will it die after a handful of posts? Would this be better as a post in a more general thread? And make sure you create it in the correct board. The organization ought to be fairly self-explanatory. If you're not sure about a thread, put it in the General board.
-Signatures and avatars: These represent you in every post you make. Make sure they're decent. No profanity in usernames, signatures, and avatars will be tolerated. If you do this, we'll replace it with ponies. No joke. And your signature should not be very large vertically. If it's longer than your post, you should be concerned.
-On the subject of profanity: substantial amounts of profanity as well as severe swears will be considered bannable offenses. In the forum settings, I've set it up to replace swears with less offensive (and sometimes humorous) words, but this doesn't affect images. Just try to be considerate.
-In RPs, images, and all other publicly visibly postings to the forum: do not post pornographic or gore content to the forum. Hopefully this would be under common sense! Let's keep a light PG-13 rating to the forum's content.
